Compete using AI, not against it

Async Academy’s English courses are designed for students who think deeply but don’t thrive in traditional, writing-heavy classrooms. Instead of treating reading and writing as isolated skills, we focus on communication, interpretation, and judgment - the things that actually matter.

Students work with challenging texts (including Shakespeare and non-fiction), but they are supported by LLMs and modern digital tools to help them engage more deeply and independently. AI is used to summarize complex passages, surface multiple interpretations, and model strong writing - so students learn how meaning is constructed, not just how to reproduce it.

Flexible Ways to Express Ideas

Students are encouraged to choose the tools that best match how they think and communicate:

  • Speech-to-text and dictation tools to capture ideas quickly without being bottlenecked by typing or spelling
  • Audio and video responses alongside written work
  • AI-assisted drafting and revision, with students acting as editors - refining tone, structure, and clarity

This mirrors real-world communication, where professionals select the tools that allow them to communicate most clearly and effectively.

Inquiry-Based. Student-Driven.

Every unit begins with the student.

Students set personal communication goals based on what matters to them — academic writing, persuasive speaking, storytelling, or digital media. They study techniques used by effective communicators, apply them in meaningful projects, and track their progress over time.

Assignments include literary analysis, AI-assisted editing, essays, video essays, and performances. Each project ends with structured reflection: what worked, what didn’t, and what to improve next. This process builds independence, self-awareness, and confidence — skills that extend far beyond high school English.
