Are OSSD credits from Async Academy accepted by Ontario universities and colleges?

How long does it take to complete a course?

Courses are fully flexible. A motivated student can complete a course in as little as four weeks, or take up to 12 months to finish. Students move at a pace that works for their schedule and learning style.

Can students start at any time during the year?

Yes. Async Academy offers continuous enrollment, so students can start a course at any time—there are no fixed semesters.

Can my child transfer to Async Academy mid-year from another school?

Yes. We regularly help students transfer mid-year. Our team supports credit evaluation and helps students continue toward graduation without losing progress.

How does asynchronous learning work day to day?

There are no live classes at set times. Students work independently through structured modules, projects, and assignments, submitting work online and receiving feedback from certified teachers.

What kind of students do best at Async Academy?

Async Academy is a strong fit for independent or self-motivated learners, students who need flexibility, athletes, creatives, or students who feel constrained by traditional classroom environments.

Do students receive support from Ontario-certified teachers?

Yes. All courses are overseen and assessed by Ontario-certified teachers who provide feedback, guidance, and academic support throughout the course.

How are assignments submitted and assessed?

Assignments are submitted online and may include written work, projects, videos, and reflective submissions. Assessment focuses on process, critical thinking, and demonstrated understanding.

Can student athletes earn Physical Education credits through their sport?

Yes. In our Physical Education courses, students can earn credit by documenting approved athletic training or competition—such as hockey, dance, martial arts, or other sports—through videos and activity logs.

How does Async Academy use AI responsibly in learning?

AI is used as a learning tool, not a shortcut. Students learn how to analyze, critique, and work alongside AI responsibly—developing critical thinking, research, and communication skills that prepare them for the real world.

Is Async Academy suitable for students who feel limited by traditional schools?

Yes. Many students come to Async Academy because they want more autonomy, flexibility, or creative freedom than traditional schools allow.

How do parents stay informed about student progress?

Parents can stay informed through regular communication, progress updates, and direct contact with teachers or staff when needed.

Async Academy offers Ontario high school courses for Grades 9–12.
