If you already live an active lifestyle or prefer training outside of a traditional gym class, this course is designed for you. Healthy Active Living allows students to earn an Ontario high school Physical Education credit by planning, completing, and documenting physical activity they already care about.
Students self-direct 80 hours of physical activity while completing a small number of written and video-based assignments. Activities are flexible and student-chosen, allowing each learner to build a program that matches their interests and goals.
You might focus on:
- A competitive sport such as hockey, soccer, or martial arts
- Individual training such as strength training, running, or cycling
- Mobility, flexibility, or core work through yoga or Pilates
- A mix of multiple activities across the course
Students can work independently or alongside a private coach or trainer. The key requirement is consistent documentation and reflection.
